opening forms using a button (3 replies)
microsoft.public.dotnet.academic
Let's assume I have two forms (A and B) in a project. In previous versions of VB I could have a button on Form A with a click event that opened Form B by simply using the command "B.show" and Form B would have opened up. Now, in VB.NET I want to do the same thing but it won't work. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong...or how I can accomplish this task. Thanks!!

Hiya, I am trying to connect to a TCP/IP site in order to do some processing. All that I need to do at the moment is conenct and receive the Unauthorised Message, but when I run the following Console App code it truncates the message to 8 bytes instead of 42. If I run it under debug it all works fine which indicates a timing issue but the calls all seem to block so why should I need to put in wait...

ado.net recordsets (4 replies)

Hi, in books I have read about ASP.NET programming, ADO.NET is used. The OleDbDataReader is used to loop through data that has been retrieved from the data base. In VB 6 I've always used the Recordset object from ADO. I noticed that the Recordset object persists in ADO.NET. Is there a performance difference in using the recordset object as opposed to the OleDbDataReader (or SqlDataReader). I need ...
