STILL NOT ANSWERED, AGAIN: Remote Debugging, Windows XP (5 replies)
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup
This is the third time I've posted this. Does anyone know the answer one way or another? Has anyone been able to set up remote debugging between two XP machines that are not part of a domain? I can't get remote debugging to work with Windows XP, and I wonder if it's just impossible. The machines are in workgroup mode, not part of a domain. I have added a user called "Scott" to the Debugger Users g...

Win98? How? (2 replies)
microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup
As earlier posts as well as the download webpage for the dot net redist file says it should work on Win98. For some odd reason it does not. An exception is generated every time our .net application is run on a win98 machine. Theese machines have the correct localized version installed so that should not be the problem. What do I do? What can be the problem? GhostNULL m ghost null;

microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup
Hello there, We are having a problem with the DirectoryServices namespace. It seems we can't use it from within ASP.NET pages, but there's no problem using it on console applications and so. I think it has something to do with proper permissions on the ASP.NET configuration, since we had to tweek it a bit to have it running on this machine, which is a domain controller. But as you see on the error...

microsoft.public.dotnet.framework.setup
I'm running Win2000 Pro, and I'm going to install IIS from my Windows CD before I install VS.NET so that I can play with asp.net (I haven't used ASP or IIS before). Are there any changes I need to make to the default settings to make sure that I'm not exposing myself to any security vulnerabilities? Other than ensuring that I have the latest security patches from windowsupdate, is the default conf...
