When I use Response.Redirect("..."), I am given the error "use
MobilePage.RedirectToMobilePage" when I browse to the page.

However, I use IntelliSense in Visual Studio, and there's no sign of a
property RedirectToMobilePage off of the MobilePage object. Anyone have
a good work around?

Also, I've tried using ViewState.Clear() and then setting ActiveForm frmInitialForm, but to no avail.

I don't what's the problem with the IDE but RedirectToMobilePage is a member
function of MobilePage.

ms-help://MS.NETFrameworkSDK/ms.MobileInternetToolkitNET/mwsdk/html/mworiMob
ilePageMembers.htm

Cheers,

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Sometimes the intellisense feature doesn't work. I was still able to use a
function even though it was hidden. I think (But I ain't certain) it has
something to do with these architectural templates. Just love Microsoft,
don't you?

Hi Anil,

The scenario is that I've just clicked on an item in the ObjectList,
which displays the detail of this item with three commands. When I
click one of the commands, the ActiveForm changes to another form. I
then perform the action on this form, but instead of making the previous
form the active form (which takes me to the detail of selected item with
the three commands again), I want to go to the original display and have
them avoid clicking on a command. Hence, I was thinking that the
redirect was the way to go.

I can still send code if desired.

Neil

    Neil,

    Are you trying to do a redirect to a mobile page depending on
the device that is coming to your site? If so, because some devices do
not support relative url's, you need to have the following in your
web.config file.

    <configuration>
     <system.web>
     <httpRuntime useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" />
     </system.web>
    </configuration>

    Or are you trying to do a redirect from one mobile page to
another? If so, can you post some sample code?

    When I use Response.Redirect("..."), I am given the error "use
    MobilePage.RedirectToMobilePage" when I browse to the page.

    However, I use IntelliSense in Visual Studio, and there's no
sign of a
    property RedirectToMobilePage off of the MobilePage object.
Anyone have
    a good work around? =20

    Also, I've tried using ViewState.Clear() and then setting
ActiveForm =3D
    frmInitialForm, but to no avail.

[aspngmob] Re: Trying to use MobilePage.RedirectToMobilePageNeil,

I am trying to follow the sequence of what you are trying to do.. Let me
know if I have it right:

You have a mobile web form page with a form that displays an Object list,
like so:

<Mobile:Form runat="server" id="FirstForm">
<mobile:ObjectList runat="server" OnItemCommand="ObjectList_ItemCommand"
AutoGenerateFields="false" id="lstAuthor" LabelField="au_lname"
>
<Field DataField="au_lname" Title="Last Name" visible="false" />
<Field DataField="city" Title="City Name" />
<Field DataField="state" Title="State Name" />

<Command Name="Edit" Text="Edit Author" />
<Command Name="Add" Text="Add Author" />
<Command Name="Delete" Text="Delete Author" />

</mobile:ObjectList>
</Mobile:Form>

When you do this, the object list provides for each list item, three choices
(in my case edit,add,delete).

When you click on one of the above commands, say Edit, it takes you to
another form on the same page, say frmEdit, as given below.

<Mobile:Form runat="server" id="frmEdit">
<mobile:Textbox id="txtCityEdit" runat="server" />
<mobile:Textbox id="txtStateEdit" runat="server" />
<mobile:Command runat="server" Text="Update" OnClick="cmdUpdate_Activate"
/>
<mobile:Command runat="server" Text="Cancel" OnClick="cmdCancel_Activate"
/>
</Mobile:Form>

And after you've done, say the Update, you want to go back to the first form
that displays all of the Option list item.

Since all three forms are on the same page, after you done the
cmdUpdate_Activate event, why can't you just set the Active form to
FirstForm and get back to the beginning?

You would in any case use the Response.Redirect only if you wanted to go to
a completely seperate aspx page.

I think I am missing something here or not understanding your question.. If
the above is NOT your scenerio, would you mind terribly posting your code?

If you're trying to go back to the list view of the ObjectList, the
class has a property called ViewMode that you can set back. For example,
=20
Sub MyCommand_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs)
ListCtl.ViewMode =3D ObjectListViewMode.List
ActiveForm =3D ListForm
End Sub
=20
Is this what you're looking for?
