In addition to networking and refreshments, during this time we will be
doing code review for anyone who is interested. If you would like to
have your code reviewed, please bring it with you (on a laptop or disk
is preferred so you can hook up to the projector but paper is fine too).
Be aware that due to the limited time and depending on the number of
people that bring code, we may not get to yours.=20

Topic: Converting from ASP to ASP.NET

Description:
Learn the steps required to turn an ASP page into an ASP.NET page. The
resulting ASP.NET will compile but may not take best advantage of the
.NET framework. =20

Presented by:=20
Christie Walker, president of CMAP, has been developing for the web
since 1996 in perl, php, and most recently, ASP. Visual Basic is her
ASP language of choice, and she is eagerly learning VB.NET and the .NET
framework.

Topic: Web Services Security

Description:
This session will explain the current options for securing Web services
and discuss best practices. You'll see demos of use Basic and Windows
authentication as well as creating your own authentication and
authorization mechanism. You'll also see how SSL can be used with Web
services and how clients can use certificates to authenticate with a
server.

Presented by:
Yasser Shohoud, an independent consultant and trainer, specializes in
XML and Web services and has authored a book on Web Services for Addison
Wesley. A Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for ASP.NET, Yasser
speaks at industry conferences including VS Live and VS Connections and
his articles appear regularly in VSM, XML Magazine, and MSDN Magazine.
Yasser also publishes the monthly .NET Web Services newsletter. See

(Once at the building, go to the 4th floor and there will be signs
posted telling you where to go from there.)

- From 95 take exit 41b to 175 West. Proceed west for about 3/4 of a
mile to Snowden River Parkway. Go south on Snowden River and get
into the right lane as soon as you go through the first light. Turn
right at the second light, in front of the Apple Ford dealership onto
McGaw road. Follow McGaw up to the first right onto Stanford Blvd.
Follow Stanford to the traffic circle and take the first right. It
is the first building on the right, 8850 Stanford Blvd

- From 29 take the exit for 175 East (sign may say Little Patuxant
Parkway). Proceed east for about 2 miles to Snowden River Parkway.
Go south on Snowden River and get into the right lane as soon as you
go through the first light. Turn right at the second light, in front
of the Apple Ford dealership onto McGaw road. Follow McGaw up to the
first right onto Stanford Blvd. Follow Stanford to the traffic
circle and take the first right. It is the first building on the
right, 8850 Stanford Blvd

- From Route 100 go South on Snowden River Parkway. After you pass
under Route 175 get into the right lane. Turn right at the next
light, in front of the Apple Ford dealership onto McGaw road. Follow
McGaw up to the first right onto Stanford Blvd. Follow Stanford to
the traffic circle and take the first right. It is the first
building on the right, 8850 Stanford Blvd

- From Route 32 go North on Broken Land Parkway and immediately turn
right onto Snowden River Parkway. Go North on Snowden for about 1
1/2 miles and turn left onto McGaw road in front of the Apple Ford
Dealership. Follow McGaw up to the first right onto Stanford Blvd.
Follow Stanford to the traffic circle and take the first right. It
is the first building on the right, 8850 Stanford Blvd
