What the difference between these two lists? I thought JSharp was Java on .NET?

Brian,

You are correct. But this is really looking at a non-MS
implementation of Java. I haven't checked but I think there
are a number on constructs in J# which makes it a different
language than Java. By rights I should have also created
a [cli-languages-basic] list to compliment the
[cli-languages-visualbasic] list.

I'd also expect to see alot more discussions on bridging
the JVM and the CLI on the [cli-languages-java] list whereas
I'd see more J++ --> J# porting discussions on the other.

Do you think we should drop the jsharp list? I am willing
to do it if you think its confusing.

IMHO, I'd drop the JSharp list and just stick with a -Java lists. Really,
how often are you going to be running into a vendors' specific implemention
of a language question? If you go by that logic for creating the two lists,
then you want a C# list for each vendor's implementions (Microsoft's C#,
Mono's C#, ROTOR's C#, etc...). Seems to be getting a little *too* specific
at first. Seems to me, you'd rather have a few lists and then break them
out into specific lists if the traffic warrants it. Remember, Charles
started with ASPNG ASPNGBETA lists and then moved to aspngfreeforall and all
of the specific lists (and he keeps adding to them today).

My Two Cents,
Brian

Brian,

Done! You were right, I am more comfortable with the
one list for it now.
