Hi... I'm currently playing around with several WAP emulators to access the IBuySpy portal. The initial page that comes up seems to appear correctly. However, when I select Home or some other button from the main page, then I get errors. Some example errors that I get are:

1. The page requires session state that is no longer available. <- this one brings up another point, and that is that I can not locate where to log in using the WAP device.

2. The other more common error I get is "No translator for content-type: text/html" <- This one may be from a non WAP module, but I'm not completely sure that's it.

If anyone has run across similar things as these, or if anyone knows a solution, I'm all ears...

thanks

Jim

1)What WAP emulators are you using? Are they all giving you the same
problem?

2) Is this a local installation of this portal or are you browsing to the
one on the web? If a local installation, can you replicate the problem when
browsing to the one on the web?

As to your error regarding the session state, I was able to replicate that
with a Nokia emulator but not the openwave one. The problem appears to be
that the Nokia does not handle sessions very well. The recommended work
around is to use cookie-less sessions. Once that was done, I did not have
any further problems with the Nokia emulator.

Information on how to set up your web.config for mobile applications
(including cookie-less sessions) can be found @

As to not finding the ability to log in, are you sure that it is offered
thru the mobile interface? Microbrowser applications are not going to have
the full functionality of the desktop version and the personalization may be
one of the things that simply is not offered thru the mobile presentation
layer.

I'm interested to know which emulators you are using to access IBuySpy.
The second of your error messages may stem from an unrecognized device,
and the default content in the response is scriptless HTML. Since the
device will require WML, it will throw this error on HTML.

IBuySpy portal (desktop and mobile in same app) uses cookies. For mobile
sites the default is normally <sessionstate cookieless=3Dtrue/>. If the
device/emulator cannot handle cookies and the site uses cookies, the
session will be lost, hence the failure you see. It is a known issue we
hope to address in an FAQ.
