Hi All ~ If I'm compiling a user control, is there a way I can get it to
render from an .ascx file? Or, if I'm inheriting a class, is there a way I
can do something comparable?

Thanks,
Josh

Can you clarify EXACTLY what you are asking? Yes, a User Control is =
contained in an ASCX file. It can use code behind, or all code can be =
in the ASCX file.

I have a datagrid with a button in each row, contained in a user control.
How can I capture the postback(select) event of the button and run a routine
in the serverside script of the user control. Pointers to tuts etc would be
great

Cheers

Will,

I don't have any direct links but sites like :
http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtech/chapters/ASPNET2/

http://www.dotnetjunkies.com/

Have tonnes of examples. I think what you're doing should be pretty much the
same as doing it in a normal aspx page. The button's "Click" even will fire
after the postback if the button was pressed.

Good luck.

Daniel.

I have tried to find any information on this particular issue and none can
be found anywhere. I'm struggling with this badly.

I have a similar situation, are you trying to fire an
event in the codebehind of your user control? I don't
think it's possible to do this unless your user
control is loaded with the aspx page in the Page_Load
or Page_Init section. Otherwise, the postback goes
back to the aspx page. Don't know if this helps.
