Hi,

I restarted my machined on Friday. After I logined my computer today, I
launched IE. IE prompted me some security stuff. I do not remember what I
clicked.
The following happens now:

1. After IE loads the page http://localhost/AspExamples/webforms/mcalc.aspx
and go to Source, only html format translation shows up with a special code
<input type="hidden" name="__VIEWSTATE" value
="YTB6LTEwNzAyOTU3NjJfX1949e1355cb" />.
2. Opening any .aspx file with notepad shows the html format translation of
aspx codes.
3. I can not see any aspx format code from asp.net quickstart.

Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.

Wenfeng

Not seen a reply to this yet so here goes...

When viewing through the web browser by looking at the url example you gave
below the page will have bene passed by your webserver running on localhost.
this will process all the server code (the ASP.NET specific stuff) and
output HTML4 or HTML 3.2 in your case I would think HTML 4.0. I won't go
into details of the viewstate <input> tag, there have been many explanations
on that list of this.

As for point 2, I am not sure why opening the .aspx files in notepad is a
problem and I can't see any reason for this bit myself. The only way that it
should show post processed code is if it is going through the processor on
route to notepad or if something wnet through processing every file and
overwriting the unprocessed version. The latter seems unlikely and the
former unusual. :)

As for 3 I'm not sure I follow what you mean if you think this is a
different problem to those above. Could you clarify?

Cheers

Chris
