Hi,
I am an asp developer and want to get started with
ASP.NET. I downloaded the .NET SDK and was going
through some of the documentation and I get the
impression that I have to learn C# or C++ and XML to
learn asp.net. Pls advise.

You would have to pick a language, the choice right now is between C#,
VB.NET, & JavaScript.NET
But the bigger chunk of the learning curve is the .NET built-in class
libraries. They provide already made functionality that you'd more likely
be using.
The best thing that helped me was the quickstart on
http://localhost/quickstart (a separate install step).
But the best advice I can think of is be patient. This is some pretty
radicall stuff (in the MS world) and so the learning curve isn't going to be
very flat. But then final isn't due out until Q4, so you have some time.

Now that we mention quickstart, I'm having trouble viewing the source of
those examples. They work fine but when I click the 'view souurce' link I
get an error saying that file needs ascx instead of aspx extension. Am I
missing something?
