Es compilado en vez de interpretado. lo que mejora el
rendimiento de forma sustancial.

Tiene controles de servidor que puedes como en visual
basic arrastrar y soltar sobre un lienzo. Estos
controles generan codigo html y puedes controlar los
eventos tal cual como lo haces en visual basic.

Tiene eventos como page_onload que te permite de una
forma ordenada controlar el comportamiento de la
pagina.

Lo que digitas en el lado del cliente, por ejemplo en
textboxes no se te pierde cuando haces un round trip
al servidor ya no necesidad de guardar esas variables
y luego volverlas a mostrar, de eso se encarga .net.

Hay una forma estructurada de programar como en visual
basic tienes una parte donde colocas los controles y
la otra donde esta el codigo lo que se llama en .net
(code-behind).

Si eres duro en algun lenguaje de programacion como c
o visual basic puedes escojer entre varios
lenguajes(actualmente hay 26 hasta cobol ya esta) y
obtenes la misma funcionalidad!

.net detecta que browser tenes y te manda el codigo
html apropiado para que lo entienda tu navegador, ya
no tenes que hacer dos versiones del mismo sitio.
