Hi!

I tried to ask this on [aspngcache] and got no answer whatsoever.

--- original Message ---

I have an aspx that streams images to the client. These images are created
dynamically, so I decided to cache.
On my dev machine (Beta 2) and on the QA server (Final), the cache works
like a charm. However, when I add exactly the same Cache directive on the
production server (Beta 2), no caching is performed.
Anyone experienced that? Is there a global caching setting I've missed? Any
thoughts?

Thanks,
Remas

Remas,

My first question would have to be how can you possibly
do QA on a system that is running a different version of
the runtime than your production server.

My second question is answered by the moderation headers
that are at the top of your message, this message was
incorrectly moved from the aspngcache list to here. At
any rate, I strongly recommend that you include some code
to add context to your question. When you say the images
are generated dynamically I assume you are actually
generating the images using an *.aspx page which is
referenced in the src attribute of the img element.

Can we see the code? It is possible that you are hitting
on a release issue with BETA 2 where some of the advanced
caching functionality was delivered by a second ASP.NET Premium
installation - I suspect that would be hard to come by
these days, I did some spring cleaning last week and tossed
all my copies of BETA 2 out.

My suggestion to you is that you upgrade your production
system to the final drop of the runtime, and then patch it.
