When creating a page from this template, It is not immediately obvious to me
how to connect the grids them to existing data sources. Dragging a table on
top of them doesn't work. When I click the fifth icon to bring up the
property sheet, the only available data source is "unbound". I'm sure this
is dead-simple but so far haven't figured it out.

I figured how to make the changes by hand in the code window, but it seems
puzzling that I cannot find a way to change this data from the UI itself. Oh
well, At least I know one way to do it!

I still haven't figured out how to connect to the localhost server, but
since I can get to the remote server it doesn't really matter all that much.

You need to go into code view and drag a new SELECT method onto your page.

It will then ask you for db info, query etc. Then you just need to set the
datasource of the grid to the function that gets the info.

i.e

DataGrid1.DataSource = getOrders()
DataGrid1.DataBind()
