Robert E. Martinez, Esq.
I'm planning on primarily using XML in an application I am developing to
store simple data. I recall seeing something a while back on the topic of
encrypting data through .net, then storing it in XML (and obviously be able
to retrieve and un-encrypt the data). Can anyone point me in the right
direction?

Much appreciated.

Robert

This site includes a sample applicatiion which shows you how to =
encrypt and decrypt XML node data.

However it does not implement the entire W3C XML Encryption =
specification. I'm not sure if there's actually a .NET implementation =
of this stuff, although MS does have some white papers on the MSDN site.

There are some new standards coming out such as XML encryption that you
could use but these aren't built directly into .NET yet (XML signature
is....but that technology signs an XML document). I posted a Web
Service encryption demo app last week that may be of use to you since it
uses native .NET encryption objects to encrypt portions of a SOAP
message (as opposed to the entire message)
