New .net Compact Framework Sample Application from Microsoft.

The MapPoint .NET sample application for devices allows the user to retrieve
interactive maps, driving directions, and to find points of interest such as
hotels or service stations on their Pocket PC. For the developer, it
illustrates how to interact with an XML Web Service, while highlighting some
of the advantages Web Services bring to traditional application development.
MapPoint .NET is Microsoft’s first commercially available XML Web service,
providing location intelligence to your applications, be they Web based,
mobile, enterprise, or traditional desktop applications.

The sample application is written in VB.NET using the beta release of the
Smart Device Extensions for Visual Studio .NET targeting the .NET Compact
Framework.

P.S. An interesting bit from the directions for this sample.

"The MapPoint .NET sample contains both a Visual Studio .NET project
targeting the .NET Compact Framework, and an update to the Web Service
components of the .NET Compact Framework."

Chesnut, Casey
my guess it that the Web Services component update included with the =
MapPoint sample will fix the bugs in my original MapPoint/Compact .NET =
article. the full source code is out there if somebody wants to give it =
a shot. recommend that anybody doing Web Services with the Compact =
Framework get that sample for the Web Services update even if they are =
not interested in calling MapPoint. oh yeah, my code is C#, although it =
doesn't really matter :)
