OK, I give up.

I was getting this error EVERY TIME I started VS.NET at work. So I
uninstalled VS.NET and .NET Framework COMPLETELY to try to reset it, since I
NEVER get this error on my home installation.

After an hour of reinstalling, I restart VS.NET and there's the blasted
error again. Any ideas?

First, this dialog box pops up:

"A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug?
Line: 70, Error: ClassFactory cannot supply requested class."

Then, if I hit NO on the previous dialog, I get this one:

"A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug?
Line: 153, Error: 'undefined' is null or not an object."

Then, when I hit NO, I get the Start page, with none of my recent projects
listed. This works perfectly at home, but not here at work, and a reinstall
did nothing to change it. Any ideas?

FS

I did that. No help. I then decided to say YES to the debug question. I
got into the page where the error occurs, which is vshome.js and the error
is on line 70 which is like this:

70 var g_wshShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");

Any ideas?

Francesco,

The javascript is trying to use a COMPONENT
I scanned my registry: regedit - find wscript.shell
Which references this file:
C:\WINNT\System32\wshom.ocx

I believe you need to download and install the wsh from MS first.
Not sure why it's not on your machine.

Paul

Try updating your windows scriptiong host object. It could also be
something in security because your browser has secutiry limits form running
activeX objects in JS. Chekc browser security settings and try to update
your wndows scripting host object.
