the cache problem can be solved (as instructed by CRYSTAL DECISSION
support team ) by:

The reason caused your issue is that the report is cached. You can try
following ways to avoid cached data and pull updated data from
datasource.

* If your report does not use parameter , call RefreshReport() after
setting ReportSource to the Web service.

CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource"http://localhost/ReportWebService/CrystalReport4Service.asmx";
CrystalReportViewer1.RefreshReport()

*Also, you try this solution: open the code behind .ASMX web service.
Find following string, and replace it with explicit short period
interval:

'Return (CachedReportConstants.DEFAULT_TIMEOUT) //comment out
Return (New TimeSpan(0, 0, 3)) //try new time interval

I made the first option ( just one line ) which works well on my
application report with a webservice.

thanks your info

Yes, the report keeps connections. You can update the dataset saved in
the
report as follows:
- open report
- right click on any whitespace
- Database->Log On/Off Database
- Log off all database currently connected (cached)
Save the report, close the report, open the report (or close IDE, reopen
the IDE)
- right click on any whitespace
- Database->Set Location
- Expand More Data Sources, ADO.NET (XML)
- select your new DataSet File, click Finish
- select NewDataSet under ADO.NET (XML), and click "Replace"

Rudolf,

I had the same problem. Crystal decisions sent me the steps to reset
the cache. If you need these steps, let me know. I wasted a whole day
trying to figure out what was happening.
