Hi,

I have a usercontrol that is causing a Specificed Cast invalid error on
the page which I'm trying to load it from.

I'm loading it using the Page.LoadControl method and adding it to a
placeholder.

When I turn off viewstate on the page the specified cast invalid error
is not thrown but ofcourse my viewstate isn't saved and the page
functions incorrectly

Has anyone seen this behavior before? If so what was your solution?

Peter,

I'm having a stab in the dark that there is something in the usercontrol that is
not serializable (to viewstate). Do you have any custom controls in there or
complex data types such as datasets, etc?
