Ambarish Ganguly
Hi all,

Question1 ::
In the Crystal Report Viewer when the records span
over a number of pages , I get to see 1 of 1+ . Is
there any way to display in the format 1 of 4 where 4
is the total no of pages ?

Question2::
When the reports appear in the browser,if we mouseover
the input or the output fields, the field name
appears. Example , if I have input parameter @code and
its value is abc . If I mouseover abc , i could see
@code. is there any way to remove this ?

Question3::
Is there any code for the search button of the crystal
Viewer? Or is there any code / resources for
customizing the toolbar of the crystal viewer.

Thanks for reading the long mail! Any help would be
highly appreciated.

=====
Regards,
Ambarish Ganguly.

Hi Ambarish
There is a special Field in Crystal report page n of m
may be you can use that to put in the page footer.
you can set the properties of Viewer either in design time using the
property window or at run time
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/crystlrf/ht
ml/crlrfwindowsformscrystalreportviewerpropertiestopic.asp
is the msdn link for properties of viewer
regarding the field names I haven't noticed this so far. Let me do a
research in that

Hi Ambareesh
Regarding the tooltip you can right click the field in the report and select
format and set formula for the tooltip.
So Instead of the field name it will show whatever string you give in the
formula area within doubleQuotes. I didn't see anything to completely avoid
it

Hi cnu,

If you are using Stored procs and Crystal Reports,
try this:
Go to
View/Other Windows/Document Outline
from the menu in the development environment.
The Field explorer will come up.

In this there will be a Parameters node, expanding it
will give the parameters in the stored proc which you
can drop and drag onto the Report.

Thanks Roshni for the help!

I have one more question :

If my report does not give of any records, meaning the
resultset has no records in it, the report is still
dispalyed with empty fields.

Is there any way to know before hand, how many records
are obtained in the result set. In my case I am using
stored procs with Crystal Reports. I do not want to
execute stored proc once more just to know the no of
records.
