Hello,

I am wondering what is the difference between using a DataReader to fill a
DataSet/DataTable vs. using a DataAdapter to fill the Dataset/DataTable. Is
there any performance
issue? Is this an issue at all?

Thanks

DataAdapters use DataReaders under the hood to fill DataSets, so the results
of either technique will be pretty similar.

I don't mean to question you here Nick, because I'm new to .NET and still finding my way around, but are you sure this is true? Its just that the docs tell me that the significant advantage of using a DataReader over a DataAdapter is that it doesn't try to load the entire structure into memory at once, so I'm going to some difficulty to use a DataReader where an adapter would be easier. I suppose if the Adapter is using a Reader but then reading the whole structure into memory then both could be true?
