I am in the process of moving many of our programs from VB 6.0 and VBS to VB.NET and ran into a big problem with printing to an embossing machine. These are machines that print information on both sides of a card and one side has a magnetic strip. The program was orignially in VBS but was very limitted to what we could do with it.

Anyway to the point. When I try to print to the embosser with a Generic/Text Only driver, it does absolutley nothing. If it has the driver that was intended for the embosser all it does is throw cards through the machine without printing anything on it. Here is an excerpt of the code I am using.

Private Sub ...
Dim thePrinCard as Strng
thePrintCard = "Enter Some Text Here"
Dim printFont As New System.Drawing.Font("Arial", 10, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Regular)

' Draw the content.
e.Graphics.DrawString(thePrintCard, printFont, System.Drawing.Brushes.Black, 1, 1)
End Sub

I heard that TextOut is what I want to use but have been unsuccessful in finding a proper example of the use of TextOut. Hope someone can help
