I came upon an idea to interrogate a network in which there are multiple
machines running instances of some well known Service.

My idea is to broadcast a OneWay SOAP message using the network broadcast
address 255.255.255.255 in order "discover" all possible active receivers.
Each receiver will then reply using the ReplyTo address with their reply.

It would appear that WSE 2.0 allows the send (using SoapClient.SendOneWay)
but nothing is being received at the other end where services are listening
on an EndpointReferences comprising their IPAddresses...

Does anyone think this could work? Would anyone on the WSE team like to
comment?

For anyone that is interested: I had a brief conversation with Hervey Wilson
regarding this issue. He pointed me in the direction of his blog
(http://www.dynamic-cast.com) where he has implemented a soap.udp transport
for WSE 2.0. This could be used as a starting point for what needs to be done.
