Is there a way to create an activeX dll with vb.net?

In vb6, I created a dll which had common code that my applications used.
This dll was placed in system32 and used by the apps.

I tried creating a dll with vb.net 2003, and it works fine, however, the dll
must be in the same directory as the exe. Otherwise I get an failed to
initialize error. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

DaVBGuy,

I am curious, you crossposted this message to the newsgroup.

dotnet.general and languages.vb.upgrade

Why did you post it to dotnet.general?

Mhm... The question isn't really related to VB.NET. It's IMO a general
..NET-related question...

Herfried,

I am curious from an answer from the OP. Not in a discussion if this is a
general question, I was suprised from the selection.

Dotnet.general
dotnet.languages.vb.upgrade
and not
dotnet.languages.vb

So just curious. Am I allowed to ask that or should I first ask permission
somewhere?

You can provide a DLL with strong name and install it into the GAC using
"GACUTIL". Then, this DLL can be shared between multiple applications.
