Hi,
I am making an application using C# and excel. I am not sure of the version
of office installed on the clients machine. If i make application with
excel from office 2000 will the application work with other versions of
office?

I am actually working through a similar situation now. I have Office 2003 at home, but the client only has Office 2000. Microsoft has released Primary Interop Assemblies for Office 2002 (XP) and Office 2003, but not for Office 2000.

The two later version support a number of features, such as XML, that the previous version does not. So, I would recommend creating your automation class based on version 9.0 (2000) rather than the latest versions.
