Is it possible to have version 2 and version 1.1 installed on the same
machine at the same time?

I ask because I would like to try out Whidbey (spelling) on the same machine
as I am using to work with my source for my current development project (dont
ask why) and would think that VS.net 2003 will stop working as soon as the
..net framework gets upgraded to version 2.

Yes, it is ok to have both installed

Microsoft also say that Whidley works fine with VS.NET 2003, but not with
2002. This means that you will get conflicts if you run framework 1.0 & 2.0,
but not 1.1 & 2.0

I read it when I downloaded the beta version of VB 2005

I had both versions of the framework on the computer, but remember that
version 2 is only a beta. It took me 5 goes to install it on a windows 2000
machine before it installed correctly (couldn't register certain files)

They install side-by-side, many people have done it, me included, but the
usual caveat applies because it's a Beta product, so you have to be prepared
to live with the possibility that it might break something on your system. I
think I've heard people say something like "You shouldn't install Beta
software unless you're prepared to wipe your hard drive and reinstall
everything, OS included".
