I am working on an app that allow users to maintain documentation. It
displays subdirectories and their files in a TreeView and allows users to add
new subdirectories/files and delete subdirectories/files. However, its not
working properly at the moment. The page loads and displays everything
correctly, including the TreeView. I can add new subdirectories. But I
cannot move files into the subdirectories, nor can I delete
files/subdirectories. I get an error, "System.IO.IOException: The process
cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."

I'm getting the Directories using Directory.GetDirectories(path, filter) and
I'm getting the files (if any) using Directory.GetFiles(path, filter).

Can anyone help me solve this?

Angela,

There is a complete sample in the VBNet resource kit for a explorer like
application.

VB.net Resource kit
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/default.aspx

And if you have problems installing the resource kit
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/faq/#installvdir

I hope this helps?

Cor

Thank you for responding to my query. I was unable to get the VBNet
Resource Kit to install on my machine. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Angela

Angela,

I can ask you to show the code where you do the delete and the move, however
in my opinion it is better to ask this question again with that part of the
code in the newsgroup.

microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.csharp

Than there is probably somebody who checks it when the advise would be
wrong.
(You can show it as well here of course)

Cor
