Hi,
- Background
In my VB6 days I would use sub-folders to organise my projects, keeping the files (.bas, .cls etc) in a sub-folder per project
Example
\vbsource\project01
\vbsource\project02
....
\vbsource\project99

In addition, general purpose code (shared between projects) would go in it's own sub-folder ...

\vbsource\general

- VB.Net problem
In the VB.Net explorer, it seems that ALL the code for any project has to be in one folder. That's fine for the code that is specific to a particular project (e.g. the code I previously put in the projectNN sub-folders) but apparently I have to keep multiple copies of the general purpose code, one copy per project. So, if I fix or upgrade the general purpose code, I have to copy it to each project.

To me, this seems so wasteful that I conclude I must be doing something wrong. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Click "Add Existing Item...", select the file, and then change the
dropdown button to reference the file only and keep it in its original
location.

Sorry Herfried, I don't get what you mean by "change the dropdown button to
reference the file only and keep it in its original location"

"Project" -> "Add Existing Item..." -> Change the button labelled "Open"
to "Reference File" and press it.
