I was setting up a data access class and wanted to make sure I was not
inadvertently disabling connection pooling as described in:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnmdac/html/pooling2.asp

I have a db access class that contains a connection object used by all the
methods with in it (get a rs, datareader, etc).

When I am done with the class (my dispose method)
I ensure that the connection is closed.
I do NOT set the connection = nothing
I do NOT call the connection's DISPOSE method
I do NOT set the class = nothing

I believe all of these steps are necessary to ensure the conn is not
removed from the pool before the default 60s time out??????????

If garbage collection is running quickly, would the pooled connection be
destroyed when the GC goes after my class or does the GC somehow now the
conn object is being used somewhere out in oledb connnection pooling land???????

Don't worry, your connection is safe in the pool.
